Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers PC Download

For Final Fantasy XIV, Shadowbringers is the greatest extension so far. The finest story ever seen in an MMO. It actually competes with some of the greatest single-player RPGs. Excellent graphics and direction of art. For starters, every Final Fantasy is about a team of people taking on a great evil. Since that’s the case, I feel an important element for any game with that sort of story is a sense chemistry between the cast. And while Final Fantasy XIV takes a while to get all thrusters running, toward the end, the cast of characters really come together, and I felt a tremendous sense of love amongst them. It makes a lot of sense. If you’re going to put an ensemble together for a journey, they’re going to grow and bond with each other.

Story:

So is the plot good? Well yes it is actually. From the very first search, the storyline sticks you in right and will not let you go until the very last one. The writing and creation of characters is better than ever, many personalities I believed to be one-note have had so much progression and depth which I just always want more of them and it’s kind of sad that some of them have to go.  The story itself is fantastic, I just have nothing but praises for it, for this game it’s mysterious, darker than normal, and it’s full of turns and plot-twists.

I love a game’s ability of allowing me to escape into another world. The unique, and artistic character designs drew me in from a visual level, while the beautiful musical tracks made me feel emotions I never thought I could feel from a game I’ve never played before.

Gameplay:

And finally, we come to my absolute favorite element of Final Fantasy XIV. No, even the music couldn’t trump this one, which I don’t need to say is also excellent. It was the gameplay that makes this my favorite entry in the series thus far. The Limit system is simple, yet satisfying. By receiving enough damage, any character can use their ultimate move to deal a great deal of damage, or even boost other characters. I enjoyed the fact that you can customize each character’s limit, choosing which one you want them to use primarily.

The FFXIV PC game feels relatively nice to play and there are strong improvements, so I don’t have any bad emotions about that. What about the dungeons and tests, the entire 70 to 80 experience in my eyes was fairly simple outside the max level ones. I’m not a hardcore player myself, but we’ve cleared most of the first attempt, many times without a single person dying. However, this does enhance in lvl 80 cases, and although I have reached Extremes yet, I think they will also be tougher.

This is the greatest story so far, and I’d even say this game’s expansion. All can alter as this game is constantly evolving and changing, but as of this time, I believe SE has done an excellent job and they deserve all the praises they can get. The only reason I’m not yet willing to give the game a 10 is that we haven’t seen any endgame raid material outside of a few extremes, so if that’s not up to snuff, the game will suffer. But it’s a very strong 9/10 for the things I’ve seen so far. I recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone who likes Final Fantasy games or RPGs in general, because you won’t be disappointed to pick this one up.

Sounds & Graphics:

In a word-amazing. Each zone’s music, for example, even cutscenes, fits completely (with one remarkable exception) and many of these songs are the ones I could bring into my playlist and listen to while riding or doing other stuff. The acting voice is totally awesome. The VAs offer it their all even in English, and you can feel the feelings coming through.

As for the graphics, the 64bit transfer really only assisted the large time of the game. While the character are still suffering from the same type of matte texture and clipping, the areas are beautiful. Every game felt different and has a unique look that caught me from beginning to end. It was a pleasure to explore the areas, but the dungeons are better. Especially the Amaurot and Mt. Gulg graphics, two of the game’s subsequent dungeons, are amazing and wallpaper material.  It became quite annoying after a while, mainly because of that one zone where the music didn’t fit and to be totally frank.

The Final

It’s pretty clear where I fall on the spectrum. Final Fantasy XIV Standard Edition is an amazing PC game in my opinion. The gameplay is tight, the story is intriguing enough, and I’m sure I don’t need to praise the music, which is phenomenal. The world gets steampunk done right, and the characters each feel like a perfect byproduct of it.
